Del Shannon je 1961 godine imao svoj jedini number one hit "Runaway". 1990  u svojoj 56 godini izvršio je samoubistvo.
Za potrebe serije "Crime story" (1986)  snimljena je nova verzija pesme sa nešto izmenjenim stihovima... some live, while others die...
